2017 Spring Stewardship Weekend!

SAVE THE DATE!

Westwind’s Spring (although it will technically still be Winter) Stewardship Weekend is Friday, March 10th – Sunday, March 12th, 2017.

This Stewardship Weekend is for people 13 and older. If you are looking for an opportunity for your younger children, join us for our Fall Stewardship Weekend November 10-12.

Stewardship weekends bring friends and newcomers together for fulfilling work on the Westwind site. Projects range from invasive plant patrols (and removals), light construction, wood chopping/stacking, painting, cleaning, and organizing. There is still time for a hike to High Meadow or out the spit. The food is delicious and hearty, and we might even spot some whales!

Plan on the regular and fantastic weather of the Oregon coast (there is no such thing as bad weather, just bad gear!), which means be ready for rain. Boots, jackets, rain pants, layers for warmth, spare pairs of socks . . . be ready!

Get Ready for Trash Raffle!

Also, we will be doing a Trash Raffle. A team will be organized to help patrol the trash cans (and make sure only true and genuine trash — things that cannot be reused, repurposed, recycled or composted — end up in the trash). Tickets are sold all weekend for a drawing on Sunday morning: the winner receives the one bag of true and genuine trash (usually the size of a grocery store paper bag), and can either bring it home to dispose of properly, or give it to a friend to do the same. What fun!
