2021 Summer Camp Info

young camper 2

It is with great excitement that we share information about summer 2021 with our Westwind community!

Though we do not know how COVID will impact our lives this summer, we will do everything we can to ensure a safe summer experience. Westwind will continue to watch and comply with all local, state, federal, and American Camp Association directives and recommendations.

We know camp will not be exactly as it has been in the past, and we will need to make adjustments to include masks, social distancing and frequent hand washing. Specific updates on our safety protocols will be provided as we get closer to camp.

Please find information on our 2021 programs here:

·  Youth

·  Families Family Camps will be modified to Family Cabin Rental style camps with added programming and activities, but lodging and food service will be assigned by family units.

·  Teens For those registered for teen programs in 2020, you will receive an additional email later this week with more information about 2021 program offerings

Please note: We have made the decision to not hold Teen Trekkers, Mini Camp, and First Timer’s camp. We are sorry if this decision causes any inconvenience. We look forward to bringing these programs back safely as soon as we are able!

Our 2021 camp calendar can be found here: https://westwind.org/camps/camp-calendar/.

Registration:

·  Early registration: November 16 at 9am
Early registration is open to all 2020 registered families whose programs were canceled. Families will be sent a registration code on Friday, November 13 to the primary account holder who registered for camp last year. Please check your UltraCamp account to ensure your information is correct. We ask that these codes not be shared with others in order to specifically accommodate 2020 camp families.

·  Open registration: November 30 at 9am
The community-at-large is invited to register starting on November 30.

We have preliminary statewide guidance for 2021 summer camp operations. We anticipate that our camper capacity may be limited by state guidance. As such, we will be opening 2021 registration at 65% total capacity. If your preferred session is filled, we encourage you to register for the waitlist. We are optimistic that we will be able to safely expand our capacity.

Camp Fees
On our website you will see fees set for 2021. We have set these preliminary fees based on a need for smaller camper cohorts requiring additional staff, as well as increased cleaning and safety protocols. We are hopeful that no additional fees will emerge in the coming months necessitating additional fees to families.

In order to secure your camper’s spot for 2021, we are asking families for a non-refundable deposit of $75 per camper. We will not collect remaining fees until the spring of 2021. We will provide a specific timeline for payments by early March or sooner.

Transportation
At this time, we are uncertain about providing bus transportation or barge crossings for campers next summer. We will provide updates as statewide and local guidance is confirmed.

Questions? Please direct all questions to us at info@westwind.org.

Thank you for your patience, flexibility and resilience.

We cannot wait to see you back at camp this summer!
