This summer, we are introducing two new teen camps. These programs offer additional opportunities for teen campers to continue their Westwind journey. Read more about the exciting opportunities we have coming:
Teen Arts
Teen Arts is a new teen camp for campers entering 9th-11th grade, although preference will be given to 9th graders. This program is an alternative to Teen Adventure 1 and will be a great introduction to teen programming at Westwind. During the week, campers participate in all things art. They will practice creative writing skills by planning and leading original campfire skits; they will practice performative theatre by acting in campfires and themed meals; and, they will engage in extended art projects like paper making, glass arts, and other multi-step projects that the typical teens schedule doesn’t allow for.
Campers will learn leadership skills through art by leading songs, understanding how arts programming works, and planning their own arts-focused activities. Between all of the time for artistic expression, Teen Arts campers will engage in classic Westwind experiences like hiking, kayaking, and all-camp activities.
Teen Arts will provide campers with all of the necessary skills to continue with future Westwind teen camps like Teen Leadership. Be ready to select Teen Arts when the 2025 Lottery Registration form opens on November 1st.

Teen Stewards
Teen Stewards is a program for campers entering 11th and 12 grade who want an in-depth understanding of how Westwind works. For three weeks, campers will shadow different areas of the Westwind program. They will learn from our staff what it takes to do their jobs and be given hands-on opportunities to learn and support Westwind.
The first week, campers will shadow our site team. They will learn about camp maintenance, environmental stewardship, and long-term site improvement projects. In a structured environment, campers will learn to use tools, practice safety, and learn about environmental stewardship. In the second week, campers will have choices to shadow art, nature, activity, and media program areas. They will learn how Camp Westwind plans and runs activities, how we incorporate our values into programming, and understand what it takes to run safe, fun, and educational programs. In the final week, campers will shadow counselors. They will practice managing group dynamics and learn how Westwind promotes a camper-first mindset.
Over these three weeks, campers will learn to be leaders and stewards of Westwind and their community. As part of the program, Teen Stewards will wash dishes and help with site projects. This helps reduce the cost of this program to a total of $400 per week. Teen Stewards requires an application that opens on December 15th and an interview.
Please note that to participate in this program, campers must agree to attend all three weeks, with weekend breaks in between. Learn more about Teen Stewards and all of our Teen Camps here.
