Dream of Renewable Energy Comes to Life

Westwind Solar Panel Installation Nearly Complete!

Westwind’s Solar Power Project on the Tillicum Barn (former horse stables) nears joyful completion! Now fully installed on the Tillicum roof, the array of 93 solar panels needs grid connection and an electrical inspection. Once activated, the array will generate up to 20% of camp’s electrical use. Westwind will share on its website both real-time Westwind solar data and educational information about solar energy.

Imagine Energy installation team!

Westwind’s Site staff and the two other professional crews have been working on Tillicum since late August to complete the installation. Local contractor Jagow and Son Roofing reinforced rafters and replaced Tillicum’s roofing. Imagine Energy, Westwind’s partner for the solar project, worked with Jagow to place brackets with the new roofing. It’s electrical team installed the 93 panel array, along with controllers and inverters.

Thank You, Funders!

This project was made possible through the generosity of Pacific Power’s Blue Sky Renewable Energy program and The Oregon Community Foundation. Preparation (connecting Tillicum to the grid) was made possible with grant funds from the Anne & Bill T. Swindells Charitable Trust.

Kudos to Westwind’s funders, contracting partners, and talented site staff for making the dream of renewable energy a reality.
