Each of our mushroom experts brings their personalized understanding of the fungi world and will offer guided forays, identification training, and workshops on their area of focus. They are excited to talk about the natural world, help you understand more about the fungi kingdom, and give you the best weekend possible.

Reishi Strauss We are so excited to welcome back Reishi! She is an expert in herbal medicine and medicinal mushrooms. With an extensive background through practical experience and biological science, Reishi will offer workshops on natural medicines and the healing properties of mushrooms. Demonstrations include samples to try, workshops on making your own natural medicines, and an understanding of the interconnected world of fungi.
Jennifer Becker. Jennifer is an educator and artist who teaches dyeing workshops, mushroom identification, and foraging in Portland area. Unlock the wonderful world of mushroom dyes with Jennifer at Mushroom Camp. See how a simple brown mushroom can unlock incredible shades of yellow, purple, and blue.
Shelby Lynn Educator, forager, and artist Shelby joins us for another exciting year at Mushroom Camp. Shelby is an ecologist who understands the complicated ecosystems at work under the soil. She spends her time outside foraging for natural recipes and producing beautiful works of art with natural dyes. Shelby will lead workshops on printmaking and natural dyes, so you can come home with your own beautiful mushroom-inspired artwork.
Maysa Miller Joining us again for Mushroom Camp is botanist and ecologist Maysa! She has studied forests and ecosystems in the Pacific Northwest for over fifteen years. Her research has included using lichen to monitor changes in air quality, conducting plant surveys, and collecting native plant seeds. Maysa will lead fascinating moss and lichen workshops that can transform your understanding of symbiotic relationships.
Maxine Borcherding All the way from Portugal! We are so happy that professional chef and sommelier Maxine is returning to Mushroom Camp. She will lead a demonstration on how to cook incredible dishes with fungi and pair those dishes with a selection of local wines. The demonstration includes a food and wine tasting. You will leave with a set of delicious recipes and a pitch to visit the coast of Portugal.
