Westwind is grateful to its newest partners, NW Youth Corps and the Chemawa Indian School, who spent a weekend at Westwind clearing, pruning and shaping Westwind’s overgrown trails. Westwind is thankful to the 9 participating students from Chemawa Indian School, and a mix of Youth Corps and Chemawa group leaders who shared their time and energy to improve Westwind’s site for its guests, volunteers, staff and campers. NW Youth Corps Residential Camping Programs combine education and job skill training with outdoor adventure for youth ages 16 to 18. With the guidance of experienced field staff, youth crew members work on conservation, reforestation and creation projects. Crews camps in the field for their entire 5-6 week session, traveling to a new project each week. You can learn more about Youth Corps by visiting their website at www.nwyouthcorps.org.
