Corcls!

Westwind is happy to introduce “Corcls“, super-fun boats accessible to people of all ages and swimming abilities. The Corcl is named after the traditional Welsh round fishing boat called a “Coracle,” and are a great addition to Westwind’s growing fleet of boats. Westwind also has canoes, sit-on top kayaks, sea kayaks, bellyyaks, and stand up paddle boards (SUPs).

To paddle a Corcl, campers sit within the plastic molded saucer and maneuver with a kayak paddle or bare hands. Because of their simplicity and stability, Corcls are especially good for smaller campers and those still finding their “sea legs.” Campers can also string them together to form chains, get tugged by staff or other boats, or they can just sit back and float with the breeze. Corcls are yet another fun and exciting way to explore the Salmon River Estuary!

Campers from youth/teen sessions and those attending MoCho and Family camps greatly enjoyed the Corcls. To see images of Corcls in action, check out the Westwind Flicker page.

The river beckons you – will you answer?
