Seasonal Kitchen Support Staff

We are looking for experienced cooks to lead meal shifts and kitchen support staff to help with dishes, cleaning, and meal prep. Our kitchen runs 7 days a week, catering to Outdoor School programs, summer camp, weekend programming, and private rental groups.

 

Contract: Full-time/Seasonal (February 6th, 2023 – November 20th, 2023)

Compensation: $16-$18/hour DOE, on-site housing available in some circumstances

Kitchen staff at Westwind will receive $300 after their first 30 days of completed work and an additional $200 at the end of the spring, summer and fall seasons.

Cooks (3 positions available)

Qualifications:

  • Must have a current Oregon Food Handlers card.
  • Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds (unloading food, carrying trays of dishes, lifting supplies and equipment as needed).
  • Visual ability to identify and respond to environmental hazards.
  • Physical ability to operate dish washing equipment according to safe recommended methods.
  • Endurance to perform tasks while standing for long periods of time (60 minutes or more).
  • Maintain kitchen environment to commercial food service standard of cleanliness
  • Enthusiasm and experience working in a fast-paced setting
  • General scheduling flexibility
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Must be 16 or older to apply
