It’s that time of year again. The sun is staying longer, the first buds and shoots are starting to poke out of the ground, and the squirrels, birds, and bugs are shaking off their winter slumber. Spring is right around the corner and that means it’s almost time to celebrate Earth Day at Westwind!
Earth Dat at Westwind
For the third year in a row, we are celebrating the confluence of community and conservation on the shores of the scenic Oregon Coast. Earth Day at Westwind brings the Westwind community together with our network of conservation partners and local community members. We want to highlight that conservation is a process that takes time, and it takes a committed community. By bringing together many organizations, we see conservation is a collaborative effort. We see that wetland restoration supports avian health. We see how increased access for marginalized communities to the outdoors leads to lifelong stewards of our natural environment.
What to expect
Westwind’s Earth Day Celebration is a community celebration for all ages. This is a free event on April 19th from 11 am until 4 pm. You will meet community conservation leaders, explore Westwind’s beautiful trails, participate in a community beach clean up, and you might just go home with one of our amazing raffle prizes. Lunch and snacks are provided! We ask that you RSVP so we know how much food to make.
