Westwind is located on the Oregon Coast just north of Lincoln City on Highway 101.
Access to Camp Westwind is arranged for each group and event individually. Currently, entries are done two different ways; by ferry crossing starting at Knight Park across the Salmon River or parking at the Fraser Field Parking Area and hiking on our Rainforest Trail. Both ways bring a majestic adventure to any camper and involve some hiking into camp. If a member of your group is physically unable to hike in and needs to be driven to the lodge and dropped off, please email info@westwind.org and make arrangements prior to your arrival.
Due to Camp Westwind’s unique location, entry and exits into Camp Westwind are limited and is imperative everyone arrives on time. Our ability to cross the Salmon River is limited by several factors, including tide, river and weather conditions, and overnight parking ability.
If you are taking the ferry to camp, please type "Knight County Park" into your GPS.
GPS Address: Knight Park – 2341 N. Three Rocks Rd, Otis, Or 97368.
If you are taking the ferry to camp, please type "Knight County Park" into your GPS.
Knight Park is a County Public Day-use only park, which we share usage with locals, tourists and nature enthusiasts. Please park cars in the single-car parking at the north end of the park, near the restrooms. The Salmon River crossing is a 4-minute ferry ride ending on the Westwind side of the Salmon River Estuary.
If you are hiking the Rainforest Trail to camp.
GPS Address: 7500 N Fraser Road, Otis, OR 97368. Please do not type in “Camp Westwind” into your GPS, it will take you to Knight Park across the river.
Upon arrival you will arrive at the Cascade Head Interpretive Wayside. Located here is a pit toilet and beautiful views of the Estuary. From there, you will pass through the green gate down a 1-way, 10 mph dirt road that will take you to Westwind’s automated entry gate. During your arrival window, the gate will be opened, and you will continue another half mile to our Fraser Field Parking Area. Located at the Field will be the Westwind luggage truck and staff to greet you and assist with hauling luggage and gear into camp. You will then begin the 2-mile hike along our enchanted Rainforest Trail hike, transitioning your mind, body, and soul into the adventures that await you at Camp Westwind.
