Visitor’s Day Recap

It was another successful Visitor’s Day. The 2024 Visitor’s Day welcomed guests from across the Westwind community. From summer campers and community members to former ODS Student Leaders and staff families, many members of the Westwind community were present. Our summer staff and board members were out and about. They greeted over 200 people who crossed to our shores and helped make a memorable day.

During Visitor’s Day, guests met staff to ask questions about summer camp and help familiarize themselves with where their campers will spend a week this summer. Other families met with the board members and reminisced about memories at camp. There were stations set up at archery and tree climbing to give campers a taste of summer camp activities. Staff led site tours and answered questions. It was a great opportunity for our community to experience Westwind.

The kitchen worked hard to cook a delicious meal of burgers with all the fixings, potato salad, and chocolate chip cookies. Despite many visitors, there was plenty of food to go around. The buffet line was a chance to connect with other camp families and was an exciting time for one young visitor.
