Laura grew up in Portland, attending Westwind as a camper in the 90’s and working as a staff member for several years in a variety of different roles. Her passion for adventure and for people carried her across international borders to places such as Australia and Central America, as well as India and several countries in Africa, working to create and establish meaningful cross-cultural relationships. Even during her travels, Laura maintained a strong passion for the outdoors and outdoor education and returned to the Pacific Northwest to focus more on working in the industry of getting more people in the outdoors. After spending a few years living in Alaska and working as a professional guide and instructor, she returned home to Portland, investing her energy in creating and facilitating local outdoor programs with local organizations and non-profits.
Laura is thrilled to return as Camp Director to Westwind – the place that started it all – and continue to work towards the greater mission of making the outdoors accessible to all through the magic that is time spent on Westwind’s beautiful shore.
