This growing season marked an exciting new milestone for Westwind as we partnered with Oakhill Organics, a family-run farm in Grand Island, Oregon. Each week, we picked up beautiful, freshly harvested vegetables to share in our dining hall with our campers and staff. From vibrant peppers and hearty potatoes to a camp favorite—crisp, flavorful salad greens—Oakhill’s produce has brought nourishing, organic goodness straight to our tables in Wilson Lodge.
Our connection to Oakhill runs deeper than just the love of fresh food. Our Operations Director, Duncan “Sparrow” Reid, once worked on the farm in a past chapter of his life, making this partnership feel like a joyful full-circle moment. Seeing familiar faces and supporting a farm that values sustainability and care for the land is especially meaningful as we nurture our own Westwind community.

This is our first year sourcing produce directly from a local farm, and we are thrilled to celebrate this step toward a more resilient and nourishing food system. By supporting Oakhill Organics, we’re investing in local farmers and providing our campers with the freshest, most flavorful vegetables possible. Together, we are growing something bigger than a meal—we’re cultivating relationships, health, and a shared love for the land.
