Excellent video about the Cascade Head Marine Reserve!
Established at the beginning of 2014 by the state of Oregon, the Cascade Head Marine Reserve is actually broken into two zones — the Reserve (which does not allow any taking of fish or invertebrates for commercial or private fishing) and Protected Areas (which allow limited recreational fishing). See Cascade Head Marine Reserve flyer for more details.
The point of a marine reserve is to provide sanctuary for fish and other sea life. Westwind campers, students, and other guests should relish the thought that the waters off Westwind’s beach are protected!
